COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE

DEPARTMENT NEWS

The CHS Counseling and Guidance Department issues a warm welcome to all students and their families. We are excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to working with all returning and new students. We are certainly dedicated to building and nurturing the total child.

Our mission in the Counseling and Guidance department is to provide developmentally appropriate services that enhance effective and efficient learning which results in students who become well-rounded, contributing members of society. Each student is assigned a grade level counselor that is available for individual counseling, career and college guidance, group counseling, classroom guidance, and parent/teacher/student conferences.

Additionally, we would like to take a collaborative effort to ensure your child has a successful school year. Please feel free to call your grade level counselor in the Counseling and Guidance Department to schedule parent/teacher or parent/counselor conferences. We can be reached at 706-748-2548 between the hours of 8:15 am and

4:00 pm.

We also encourage you to participate in our Parent Volunteer program in our department. Parent volunteers are welcomed in the Counseling and Guidance Department for filing and answering the phone. If you can spare one day a week, please call us at 748-2548.

Always Building,

Trikella L. Nelson, LPC, NCC

Counseling and Guidance Director
