To Students, Parents and Teachers of Columbus High:
The Columbus High Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) would like to welcome you to the 2011-12 school year! We look forward to a great year of support and service to our school, our students, and our teachers. One of the reasons Columbus High is such a successful school in every respect is the support and involvement by its students and their families. The PTSA helps to organize and channel that very important support in ways that best serve the school, its students, and its faculty. The PTSA is YOUR organization and we need your support and involvement! The Columbus High PTSA provides a number of support services throughout the school year- here are just some of the activities we will be involved in this year:
· Faculty breakfast and other events to demonstrate appreciation for teachers
· Staffing for Sara Spano Muscogee County Clothing Bank
· Provide judging for Senior Boards Night
· Sponsor and coordinate annual Reflections Literary and Arts contest
· Sponsor educational events for students, parents and teachers
· Provide “College Bound” guides for Juniors and their parents
· Provide speakers and programming for Senior Dinner
· Campus beautification that is not provided by MCSD
· Participate in Muscogee County School District Board Meetings
· Advocate for Columbus High in all matters affecting the school
· Raise funds for various school projects, capital investment and school support
· Organize volunteers to support school functions, programs, and events
How to get involved:
· JOIN THE PTSA Use the enclosed membership form. Enroll each family member! Or stop by our membership tables at registration, orientation and Open House. PTSA Membership is for 1 year only so even if you’ve been a member in the past, you need to rejoin us every year!
· FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER “Like” us Columbus High PTSA to receive notifications about upcoming school events and opportunities to serve or volunteer. You may also access our website directly at www.columbusptsa.com
· GIVE US YOUR CONTACT INFO and we’ll notify you personally when volunteer or service opportunities arise. Be sure to let me know if there is something specific you’d like to be a part of. Email me at rsturkie@charter.net with your name and I will add you to our resource database.
